Snippit TV ("Snippit," "we," "us") turns screenshots that mention movies and TV shows into a personal watchlist. This policy explains what information we handle to make that work, and what we deliberately don't keep. The short version: we store your email and your saved titles; we do not store your screenshots; and we don't sell your data or run ads.
When you capture or share a screenshot into Snippit, the image is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our server function and forwarded to our AI provider (Anthropic) for one purpose only: reading the movie or TV title it mentions. The image is processed transiently — we do not store it on our servers, we do not keep a reference to it, and it is deleted from the app's shared container after the title is saved. Our AI provider does not use API inputs to train its models.
To provide the service: identify titles from your screenshots, sync your library across devices, enforce the free-save allowance, manage your subscription, and answer support requests. That's it — no advertising, no selling or renting personal data, no third-party tracking SDKs.
We rely on a small set of processors to run Snippit:
Your account and library are kept until you delete them. The app has a built-in Delete account option (Profile → Delete account) that permanently removes your account, library, and subscription record from our systems. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — do that in your App Store or Google Play settings. Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Data moves over TLS encryption; database access is protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own rows; passwords are hashed; and server-side secrets never ship inside the app.
Snippit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Snippit TV is operated by Melissa Taylor Home LLC, 385 Wagner Ct, Paramus, NJ 07652, United States. We are the data controller for the information described here. Questions, requests or complaints: support@snippit.tv.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these bases:
Our servers and service providers are in the United States, so using Snippit means your information is transferred there. For transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with the providers who handle that data.
When you create an account there is an unticked box offering occasional Snippit updates, title recommendations and offers. We send marketing email only to people who tick it. Leaving it alone costs you nothing — every feature of the app works identically either way.
We record the date you opted in and the exact wording you agreed to, so we can show what you consented to and when.
Recommendations are based on the titles you save. If you opt in, we may look at your saved library to choose which titles to feature in an email, so what you receive can differ from what another subscriber receives. This is the only purpose beyond running the app for which your library is analysed. You can object to this specific use while staying subscribed by emailing support@snippit.tv.
Unsubscribing is one click from the link in any marketing email, or by turning the setting off in the app. It takes effect immediately, needs no login, and we never ask for a reason.
Unsubscribing never affects your library, your account or your subscription. Your saved titles stay exactly as they are. No part of the service is ever conditional on accepting marketing.
We do not sell your email address, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising outside our own emails.
You can access your library in the app at any time, and delete your account in-app. For a copy of your data, or any other privacy request (including rights under GDPR or your local law), email support@snippit.tv and we'll respond promptly.
Depending on where you live, those rights include access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objecting to processing, and withdrawing consent. Exercising them never costs you anything and never degrades the service.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you think we have handled your data badly, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, but that right does not depend on contacting us.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Virginia have rights to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion or correction, and to receive a copy. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising — under any state law's definition. We run no ads and no third-party trackers, so there is nothing to opt out of. Requests: support@snippit.tv.
Browsers and devices can send a "Do Not Track" signal, and there is still no agreed standard for responding to it. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites in the first place, so there is no behaviour for the signal to change.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date above, and note significant changes in the app.
